杜邦在自行车运动方面贡献可不小。kevlar纤维被杜邦用于生产头盔和车胎，杜邦krytox润滑剂可以让自行车传动部件运转更顺滑、快速。激烈的比赛要求自行车的运转部件牢固耐用，如变速器、刹车手柄、脚蹬与车轮可以采用杜邦delrin、zytel、crastinpbt、rynitepet树脂等耐久性工程塑料。自行车的其他部分，如链条齿轮、内胎、变速手柄、速度表部件、照明灯部件及刹车手柄等也采用了杜邦的创新材料。
以酚醛树脂为主要原料制成的热固性塑料，如酚醛模压塑料（俗称电木），具有坚固耐用、尺寸稳定、耐除强碱外的其他化学物质作用等特点。可根据不同用途和要求，加入各种填料和添加剂。如要求高绝缘性能的品种，可采用云母或玻璃纤维为填料；如要耐热的品种，可采用石棉或其他耐热填料；如要求抗震的品种，可采用各种适当的纤维或橡胶为填料及一些增韧剂以制成高韧性材料。此外还可以采用苯胺、环氧、聚氯乙烯、聚酰胺、聚乙烯醇缩醛等改性的酚醛树脂以满足不同用途的要求。用酚醛树脂还可以制成酚醛层压板，其特点是机械强度高，电性能良好，耐腐蚀，易于加工，广泛应用于低压电工设备。

crastin hr hfs系列包括crastin hr5315hfs和crastin hr5330 hfs，分别具有15％和30％玻璃增强，有本色和和可激光打标黑色两个色号产品。这两者都进行了抗冲改性，并具有较高的断裂伸长率，同时保持玻纤增强pbt的刚性。可直接取代现有crastin hr产品在汽车连接器、电子控制单元（ecu）和保险丝盒中的应用。

聚丙烯( pp) 价格便宜，来料丰富，加工性能优异，是重要的通用树脂。pp /pbt 合金与abs /pbt合金相比耐热性和耐化学腐蚀性都更好，但是由于分子极性和分子链结构的差异，pp /pbt 共混时易发生相分离现象，简单的机械共混无法满足pbt 工程化的要求。因此在pbt、pp 共混过程中需要加入适量的相容剂，使体系相分散变得均匀，并在2 相界面形成pp-g-pbt 共聚物，使界面厚度增加，相互作用增强，从而减小界面张力，起到稳定分散相形态的作用。
这种生物塑料除导热性能好外，还具有质量轻、易成型、对环境污染小等优点，可用于生产轻薄型的电脑、手机等电子产品的外框。
