热爱机械的男士们都知道，任何一件机械仪器时间久了都会不灵活，腕表也一样，因为腕表本身就是一枚小型的机械仪器。传统的机械手表，主要由四个部分组成，第一部分是原动系，简单点理解为就是我们经常说的发条部分，第二部分是传动系，这个主要是齿轮按一定的传动比用于测算时间使用，第三部分是擒纵调速系，可以说这是手表的心脏部分，摆轮，游丝，擒纵叉，擒纵轮这些部件很关键，大部分决定于手表的走时精准度，第四部分是指针指示系，如果说上述都是机动部分，这个部分是人和手表连通的部分，人需要使用这个部分去上弦或者调整时间。
实际上，整枚腕表的运作并不是单一的而需要所有系统合作，这里润滑油就至关重要了。随着时间的推移，润滑油的油量会减少或干枯变质，这时候就需要给腕表重新上油。而如果不及时给腕表上油，一旦油干了，动力系统就处于干磨损，几年下来，这个表的寿命也就到了。
贵重的机械表需要保养，才能保持它的美观，并延长它的使用寿命。但要注意的是，一定要在正规的地方进行保养，以防出现越保养手表坏的越快的现象。
一、关于您对手表可能产生的误区
(1)佩戴折表蒸桑拿，完全错误的行为。

(2)用水滴的凝结确认表镜为蓝宝石水晶;
这种作法是不科学的做法。
因为有些矿物质玻璃也会使水滴凝结，而有些蓝宝石水晶上的水滴也会散开，但抗磨程度是一样的，表镜为何种材质厂家会加以说明，不要用水滴来试。
(3)石英手表换过电池后就不再樊了，走时也不精确了：这种观点是错误的。
