atlas antibodies was founded in 2006 by researchers at the royalinstitute of technology (kth) in stockholm and the rudbecklaboratory, uppsala university in uppsala, sweden. atlas antibodieswill handle the production, marketing and sales of the antibodyproducts developed and validated in the human proteome resource(hpr) center.
the human proteome resource (hpr) center is performing a systematicexploration of the human proteome with affinity (antibody) basedproteomics, combining high-throughput generation ofaffinity-purified (mono-specific) antibodies with protein profilingusing tissue microarrays. the human proteome resource (hpr) centeris located in stockholm and uppsala, sweden and is running theswedish human protein atlas (hpa) program funded by the knut andalice wallenberg foundation. the hpa program generates expressionand localization patterns of proteins in a large portion of bothnormal and cancer human tissues and organs resulting in theantibody-based profiling presented in the publicly available humanprotein atlas (hpa) (). the hpa vision is to enable the systematicgeneration of quality assured antibodies to all non-redundant humanproteins and to use these reagents to functionally explore humanproteins, protein variants and protein interactions.
