what is a Dispersion disc / cowles disc introduction
The Universal Dispersion Disc, or also known as COWLES Disc in reference to its inventor, is designed in order to create large dispersions. It will create a flow stream in the container that contains the liquid to be dispersed, as can be seen in the lateral figure↘. All our DDUs are made of AISI-304 or AISI-316L stainless steel with electro-polished finish.
what is the anti-corrosion coating used for the dispersing disc?
The dispersing discs in the picture bleow is stainless steel 304 dispersing discs with tungsten carbide materials as coating. Tungsten carbide is a king of alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and high hardness.
With the Tungsten carbide coating out side the dispersing disc, users can use the disc to high corrosive liquid with bigger sized particles.
The left dispersing mixer / blade is made by stainless steel, without coating outside the disc surface.
The dispersing disc at right side seems much more dark in color, it is stainlee steel disc with tungsten carbide coating.

In the above picture of our dispersing mixer, you can see both of them comes with a shaft bushing. this bushing is made to order. bore size and keyway are also customizable.

How to choose a suitable dispersing disc?
For proper operation, the DDU disc need to work in a suitable container, that is:
for a ØD disc the ideal tank diameter is Ø2D ~ Ø3D
and the distance from the DDU disk to the bottom of the tank 1D ~ 1,5D
