1. The grinding process of KN -G500 gear grinding machine is to grind a workpiece gear with a grinding wheel that is dressed of an identical tooth profile by CNC dresser . Compared with traditional grinding methods , it features high efficiency , high tooth profile accuracy , simple machine structure , and easy installation , operation and maintenance , thus suitable for mass production of high - accuracy gears .
2.With workpiece mounted horizontally , the machine has 7 AC servo CNC axes , including longitudinal travel of slide carriage as axis - Z , horizontal travel of slide carriage as axis - X , workpiece indexing as axis - A , helix angle as axis - B , and wheel dressing axes relatively as axis - U / V / C . In addition , the machine is equipped with a motorized spindle with VFD .
3.The grinding wheel is dressed by a diamond dressing wheel , which is mounted at a position relatively fixed with respect to the grinding wheel head . Modifications in normal direction are realized through 3- axis linkage control , with following advantages :
(1)The profile requirement for the dressing wheel is much lower , which improves service life of diamond dressing wheels and reduces cost sharply
(2)With one single diamond dressing wheel , grinding wheels of a straight , arc or involute profile in any direction , or any combination of them , can be dressed without any problem . Besides , with dynamic compensation , the wheel dressing is very precise , as the dressed profile is not influenced at all by wear of the dressing wheel (3)Installation position of the wheel dresser and the location of grinding wheel are relatively fixed to each other . The grinding wheel can be dressed at any location , except grinding position , which sharply reduces idle travel time of the grinding wheel and increases productivity .
4.Grinding with coolant can be carried out , with a large - flow cooling system and a full - enclosure guard , as well as an oil - mist recycling device . Creep feed grinding can be applied , with less workpiece indexing and higher efficiency.
