Product Description
Freezing Point of Paraffin Waxes(Vaseline) Tester
ASTM D938
Product Model: JF938
Product Introduction
Freezing point is a characteristic of paraffin products that is of interest to many paraffin users. This process is the temperature at which the test sample cools to solidify or stop flowing. At this temperature, petroleum waxes may be solid or near-solid, or semi-solid, and are fairly soft, depending on the composition of the paraffin or petrolatum being tested. When the test sample is petrolatum, coagulation is related to the gel structure of the sample when cooled. The test principle of the instrument is: melt the paraffin sample and stick the paraffin drop on the mercury ball of the thermometer, and use a preheated flask as an air jacket to cool the petroleum wax stuck to the mercury ball at a rated speed until it condenses, the freezing point The freezing point is the temperature observed when the paraffin drop ceases to flow, as measured by a drop in temperature with a thermometer. The instrument is also suitable for testing Vaseline.
